During the winter, I had the pleasure of testing the Warmskin underwear, an outfit consisting of a vest and pants. As a bonus, I received a lovely balaclava made from the same material, which is just as effective and very comfortable under a helmet.
The outfit kept me warmer and more comfortable than anything I had tried in the past. The result is more than conclusive since the Warmskin underwear provided me with everything I needed not to succumb to the winter cold. In my case, maximum moisture wicking is definitely a high point because I like to play intensely with my motorized toys and when I am enjoying sports.
Having tested the undergarments over the entire winter, here are my concluding remarks :
- The ever-present warmth provided and downright appreciated under a coat when it’s really cold – say an unpleasant cold that keeps you from enjoying sports (-30C and even colder…Brrr!)
- I loved how the garment adjusts to the body, particularly these more flexible areas and the already integrated shapes that hug the body. It is definitely an advantage that I very much appreciated as compared to ordinary undergarments.
- Moisture wicking is efficient and appropriate when enjoying motorized sports. It becomes impressive with more intense efforts such as my experience at Destination Mont-Valins
- Only downside, when exerting maximum effort (i.e. running), you can feel some moisture permeating in the fabric for a while. However, no fabric has yet been conclusive for me at this level of maximum intensity.
