Winter is coming and it’s time to think about storing your motorcycle. Here are a few basic tips to store your vehicle properly for the winter season:

  • Fill the fuel tank to prevent the formation of rust in the tank;
  • Add a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degeneration;

  • Carry out an oil change. Contaminated oil will not preserve its properties over a long period. It will degrade, oxidize and could damage your engine.

  • Lubricate the chain well to prevent the formation of rust on it;

  • Keep tire pressure at a maximum and if possible, move the vehicle once a month to prevent tire deformation;

  • Clean the motorcycle well to prevent the contaminants from damaging your vehicle;

  • Plug in a smart charger into your battery to prevent complete discharge. A dead battery over a long period of time can become unusable;

  • Cover your motorcycle with an appropriate covering to protect it from the external elements.

Consult the manufacturer’s manual or see your local dealer for a complete storage program adapted to your vehicle.
